The Tree History of our MBE file since inception.
Divided by the eight names that I track.

DateAdditionNotes
Mar-99Started FTM    Mark's beginning of trying to organize our family tree.
(Chose to limit tree branches to 8 grandparent surnames)
Jun-99 Origingal tree   less than 200 names (Currently numbering in the thousands)

Britt:
1999Tediously constructed Tree back to Willard Warren  (wrong name really Warren Willard)

1999Attempted to tie Tree into Oren Brett's Tree back to 1600's without success

1999 Recieved Help from William Britt  by email from Netherlands on his family and Obits of
the Doctors
"Dear Mark,
Just a quick note to let you know your geneology packet arrived OK and Iam very interested in helping you with whatever I can. Will have to digout some family history papers..maybe over Thanksgiving break...It wasvery (nicely) odd to read the names of people that Grandma Britt and myfather and aunts and uncles had all mentioned at some time or anotherwhile growing up in western NY.  Will Britt"

10-2000Review again of Oren Brett genealogy of 1899 showed a possible connection through
Alpheus Britt.  Investigation through census and church records to tie Warren Willard to
the Oren tree continues.
Appended the Oren E. tree with names back to Thomas Brett   abt. 1535!
Added volumes of Britt info to the tree from NY Cementary  & Census records
online.  Orleans online 1900 census http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyorlean/ri1900b.htm
Elmer Jay's father's name we had wrong and it slowed our connection , finally calling the
Acacia Cementary in NY (716-692-0511) found that his grave stone shows Warren W.
but the records record "William Willard".  Will search try connections with this "new"
given name.

Oct 2000Made a internet contact of Carolyn Rustay  thru an Orleans Co. NY genealogy page.  Her
line descended through Curtis Britt brother to Willard Seth.  Compared and revised and
added some info from the outline she provided.  Hoping  to learn more through this
contact.

Hollister:

Nov-1999Major addition of tree info provided by Sandra Miller & Greg Hollister (both email internet contacts)
"Hello Mark!!!
Good to hear from you. I am Greg Hollister and have been doing research (Not as actively as Sandra) on the Hollisters. I also (a number of years ago) purchased an estate in Twining Michigan from Claudia (Pratt) Forshee... I have a couple of "artifacts" such as Myrtle Bliss' graduation certificate from Nursing School and John Wesley and Myrtie's Marriage license. (they are still in the house in Twining). I also have numerous postcards between Forshee family members from the early part of the century (these are in Cincinnati.) Greg Hollister"

Coupled names to pictures provided by Iris Forshee Sztanyo, back to Elihue

Sum-2000Smith family from Ontario being added and developed

July -2000 Suspect siblings of Elihue ; Ephriam and Eliza found at Mormon Library

Oct 2000       Learned Elihu lived at Cattarangus, NY in 1830 according to Ancestory.com.
In Ohio for 1870 census.

Oct 28,2000 Visited Salt Lake City and Mormon Genealogy Center.  Via the us of the microfilm
discoverd that Glastonbury, CT was in an incredible Hollister settlement from the 1600's ,
and have supected that Elihu eminated from this line.

Jan 19, 2001 Added gedcom files developed by Sandra Miller advancing the Smith & Bacon lines.
Also added Jeff Barnes connection.

2-6-2001       Actually visited Glastonbury, CT the motherlode for our Hollister heritage.  Learned
and added many things about our early impressive ancestors.

2-13-2001     Added the Hollister crest shared with me from "Linda Curtis" <clcurtis@networld.com>  And learned that the name Hollister is more of an American derivitive as it is not
recorded in England's record of the time. This implies that our lineage indeed came
through Big John Hollister of CT.

Oehus:
1999Major Tree addition back to Germany compiled and provided by late John Oehus.

2-2000Sandi (John's wife) indicated a dead end on name research past Heinrich Oehus in
Hanover, Germany in June 1995

11-2003  I believe that the family Oehus has its roots here near Becklingen. Because here is an small village of 3 or 4 housest thats called Oehus. Here is living Wilhelm Oehus' family. I found also out that my grandfather had another brother Rudolf Oehus. He died in Stalingrad. My father told me that my family lives here for more than 700 years in Becklingen/Oehus. I looked into the phone-book: all oehus that here are in germany are living in the area of hamburg/hannover. I will try to find more out about this
