Dear Family & Friends,
Like an old relic, I keep doing it....... sending out a Christmas greeting in the form of a letter. Maybe I am 'bit' old fashioned (and I am…. while all our grandkids are questioning “a bit?”) but we enjoy this time of year with all of its energy, meaning and connections with friends and family. Sometimes those connections are in person, sometimes over the phone or online chat and sometimes they may even be by letter. If this is our only connection at this time this year with you, first we are sorry, but we wish to convey that we truly appreciate you, your friendship and we wish you all of God’s blessing during this exciting and Holy time of year. Merry Christmas to all and Peace and Good will to you and your family!
Any good Christmas letter needs to pass on our wish of a Merry Christmas for you (see 1st paragraph) It also must make you smile or even laugh;
So a little Doctor humor: A man is in the hospital when his doctor approaches and says, "I have some bad news, but also some good news". "Okay doctor, give me the bad news first." "Well, I'm afraid we've got to amputate both your feet.” "So what's the good news, doctor?" "The fellow in the next bed wants to buy your slippers!" And This;
A doctor tells a patient, "I have some bad news and some worse news". "The bad news is you have 24 hours to live." "Oh my gosh! What's the worse news?" "I've been trying to reach you since yesterday!"
And the last thing a good Christmas letter needs is to pass on a little news. So here goes. While both Barb and I had a “procedure,” her an eye surgery (with another one coming), and I a knee replacement, it has been overall a good year for health for us and our entire family. We are doing just fine, the kids and their families are also fine, and that pretty much sums up the extent of our news.
Now that the 3 bases are covered, may we just share a few heartfelt words about our last year. 2025 was not an earth shattering year for us, was not a record setting year, was not a life altering year! What the 2025 year was for us, was another year of blessing, another year of God’s grace and faithfulness, another year of joy, and another year of love! Was 2025 a good year…….oh yes, it certainly was! However, the year was not without challenges. During the year did you get down a time or two and needed some help? Did you have a close call or two? Did you mess up a time or two? Did you ever feel lost and in need of guidance? Were you ever heartbroken or crushed to your very core? Did you carry a burden so heavy you could not lift it? Well, I have to share that you are not alone. We all have these moments. We are all human in these ways.
Thinking about some rough waters during 2025, is a great lead in to the Christmas Season and Christmas Story. Christmas impacts us in ways of love, warmth and joy like few things in this world ever will. It teaches us about a loving God who cares about His creation and sets in place a plan to save it and to save people. If in the above paragraph you could relate to any of those feelings of challenge from being lost, to carrying a burden too heavy to bear, please hold on to these words...... our God loves you! Jesus says so in John 3:16 “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” And about carrying a burden, never forget your burden may be heavy but it never outweighs God’s Glory! Everything starts and ends with Jesus and He IS the reason for the season! God Bless you and Merry Christmas from the Florence Sztanyo’s

In the Fall of 2024, after over a year of compiling, studying and research, I finally finished a family project of love, the writing and recording of the 4 generations involved in the history of the Britt Farm, Turner, MI through our current day. And yes this was distributed last year to family, but I am still very proud of this effort to tell this story. Now I encourage friends and family to access and view for themselves some a lot of the researched photos, plats, documents and maps to learn the real story of how this farm started, then succeeded through 4 generations.
